I called and asked if they could specifically diagnose a drain on my battery because I'd already taken it to Napa, who said the battery was good, and to my regular mechanic, who said it needed an electrical diagnosis, which he didn't do. It had died on me twice with no discernable common reason. I relayed all this to them and they said they could take a look. While they would have great customer service for someone who didn't have a regular mechanic--they were prompt and communicative--I left feeling like they didn't actually hear the issue I needed solving and like they looked for a way to make $170 off an all-over review of my vehicle when all I wanted was specific engine draw diagnostics. They said my battery was good (which I already knew) and that leaving the door open for 30-45 minutes could cause the battery to die. I should have pulled the plug when I asked them to ensure the aftermarket brake package I suspect might be the issue was completely uninstalled and they said they "didn't do much work with electrical", but instead I left my truck there and I got a shred out with quotes for recommended preventative work totaling over $4500. Still have to take my truck elsewhere to get diagnosed because I still don't know what the issue is.

Thanks for your feedback Samantha. We did our best to hear your concern. We did a parasitic draw test several times throughout the day and even sent you photos of the test showing 60mA along with a detailed explanation of the testing included. We tested the alternator, battery, connections etc and even brought the vehicle back in several times throughout the day to try and catch the problem if was indeed intermittent or a battery that failed after hours of sitting which is sometimes the case if they aren’t holding charge properly, even with no parasitic draw present. Most people that come to our shop greatly appreciate that we do such a thorough inspection rather than telling us they already have a mechanic but we still did our best to help our however we could. We do electrical work all the time, but it is true that we don’t do any aftermarket installs / wiring, especially when the work had already been completed by somebody else. The wiring itself cannot cause a draw when there is noting plugged into said wiring and the aftermarket trailer brake controller and dash cam you mentioned when you arrived were disconnected before we looked at the vehicle. After testing battery/charging system several times for you throughout the day we called to ask more questions to try and better understand the issue you were having and you let us know that the battery died when you left the door open for an extended period of time so we let you know that we could do a deep charge on the battery and to let us know if you had any future so we could retest if necessary.
