I utilized waterfront CPA for my taxes because I had complex taxes for 2021. I provided to them all the required documents to complete my taxes including the W2 that they left off my taxes. (to my fault I should have reviewed their work but that's why I hired them so I didn't have to) well turns out they completely left off a W2 and I owed more in taxes. the IRS hit me with a roughly 1,000 dollar penalty which they "paid" by doing my taxes this year free and refunding my 2021 tax fee. but because of their error I was responsible for a 470 dollar interest fee that they would not cover. so be prepared to review all of their work. if an error happens regardless If it was their fault, you will be responsible for the interest owed because of their error in addition to the tax you owe. I told them I would not have incurred the interest because I would have paid my full tax bill had it been prepared correctly, but they said that was policy. So unless they correct this policy I would look elsewhere for a more reputable company that takes responsibility for errors of their service. Respectfully I typically do not write reviews but because their error cost me an additional cost of almost 500 dollars and the IRS headache I was not a satisfied customer.

I would avoid this group. I worked with them for many years and was mostly happy with their services. Until one of the accountants i worked with often had some personal issues come up and did not send in my returns on time one year and it has been a nightmare since then. They worked on multiple businesses and my personals. I was paid up on annual invoices for work that was not even getting done. The IRS sent me multiple bills for the returns being late, waterfront agree to send in a letter and believed the fees would be waved since it was my first time being late- BUT they were not, and waterfront evaded all responsibility once I brought that to their attention. They went from being apologetic for the screw up, to trying to lie on email once my attorney chimed in. Its all in writing though-email and text. I am thinking of taking legal action to get my fees returned. Finally- my new accountant said she has noticed MULTIPLE issues from the late returns they ended up sending on my behalf. Complete nightmare. Unprofessional, and dishonest.

This is the second year in a row I have not had my taxes done on time despite providing them with all the info at the beginning of the year. won't get back to me and when I follow up it takes him weeks to return a call or email. I understand that they are very busy around tax time but I feel quite mistreated. I'm surprised that this company has such good ratings as I have given them the benefit of the doubt for two years now and have been extremely dissatisfied.
