This restaurant was one of the best restaurants ever! However their doors closed on March 6, 2019 after a meeting with the owner Paul Schmidt who made evident he is not a man of his word and would rather close the doors than make good on his word on prior contracts. He also refused to solve long term issues that were brought to his attention multiple times. The truth is, the kitchen got tired of taking their abuse... Situations like insulting the staff based on their economic condition, Mary Schmidt physically threatening kitchen staff... By the way her new nickname is Cujo... The truth is these slave masters had even less respect for their employees than they had for their customers. What they did have a passion for was too much alcohol, bullying, gossip, condemnation and social status. Apparently their alcohol consumption was worse than we knew... To the point of them not remembering their threats they made, not only in front of all employees, but customers as well! Unfortunately they also had no appreciation for their executive chef Steve Serbousek, who created the menu and recipes... Who took on all aspects of the business because the owners had zero experience in restaurants. He showed up every single day with no sick days from the day the doors opened while the owners did not want anything to do with the day to day operations... That is until, due to some poisonous narcissistic influences, they decided to go over his head and not only disrespect him, scare everyone in the kitchen with their abuse. They never once gave him a bonus or a raise and he was working there for less than he made 15 years ago with way less responsibility! My point is... His heart was in it. Something mary and paul know nothing about. Everything only boils down to money with them. Money and what they perceive to be control and power over others. However you can only buy those who can be bought. This crew could not be bought, now this once beautiful gem is closed because Paul could not man up and apologize or make good on his contracts. He believes that people like his loyal staff are replaceable! Hahaha I am looking forward to them finding out how valuable Steve was and realizing that restaurant existed only because of Steves hard work! Threatening to shut down the restaurant hundreds of times and turn it into your home, threatening to replace all employees for simply telling you the truth about how abusive your pets were is not a way to run a healthy place. Hating on people who have less money than you and putting down your homeless workers is not a way to keep employees if you haven't noticed. We will always miss the Timberhouse but it will never be the same. Funny they teach business workshops to high school kids, the same high school kids they are yelling at the night before, during one of marys best Cujo impressions! Lol Copious amounts of Alcohol and pills don't mix. Ps. for those who may want to deny any of this, it is all well documented, with witnesses, and cannot be denied. The masks are off! Good luck. You'll need it. Denial will get you everytime.
