Melaque Restaurant

I have been coming to this place for years. The food is always priced right and very tasty and large portions. Martin, our server was very courteous and made our visit wonderful.

Melaque is one of the best Mexican restaurants around their service is great and their food is amazing food is always ready in less than 15 minutes. Their workers are great and so friendly. (haters go away) Never have had problems with the food it's always fresh.

HORRIBLE customer service! We walked in at 7:30pm on a Monday night and there was no one at the front desk to greet us. We waited 3 minutes and no one came. I even walked into the resturant looking for a waiter to seat us, and I saw no one. When a guy finally showed up he barely said hello then took us to our seats. As we followed the guy to our seats, he stopped to give another table their bill as we waited behind him! I couldn't believe it! When we were seated we were not told the name of our wait(ress/er) or that they would be with us soon. The guy who sat us at our table just walked to the table next to us and grabbed the cups and silverware form there and then moved it onto out table then walked away. He brought us chips and salsa and the salsa was spilled all over the bowl and the guy spilled it on the table when he set it down and he walked away saying nothing. When the waiter finally showed up he was polite and he took our orders and brought us our drinks. On a side note this place does not do free refills on chips and salsa! If you want more you have to pay $2.00. I have NEVER been to any other mexican resturant who made you pay for chip refills! Our food was brought to us quickly and it was pretty good. The waiter never asked us how our meal was, even though he walked past our table several times. He also never asked us if we wanted desert or anything else he just asked if we wanted a box for left overs and he brought us our check. Don't go to this place!!! It's only 5 mins from my house and I'll gladly drive another 15 mins to La Playa Azul in downtown Puyallup, or El Toros on Pacific Ave before I go to Melaque again. They suck!
