I made a reservation here for a special occasion based on the good reviews I read online, and I'm afraid my girlfriend and I were let down.
First of all, it was obvious that they "forgot" about us as soon as we were seated. We were given water by the busser, but no server approached our table to even offer drinks for a full 25 minutes. Apparently they had confused which server's section we were in...
Eventually a server showed up and apologized, so I was willing to look past this one mistake. We ordered a bottle of wine (decent selection by PT standards) and an appetizer of pan-fried oysters, which was excellent, but the rest of our meal was mediocre.
My $30 steak was only OK (much better steaks available in Seattle for that price. FYI, T's is the sort of restaurant that serves their steaks smothered in unnecessary sauces...), and my girlfriend's pasta was made incorrectly. They forgot to include the grilled chicken, so her food got cold while we waited for the forgotten chicken to arrive. Again, our server offered a basic apology, but nothing more. I've spent some years in food service in the past, and personally I would have been offering a free dessert or something, considering that that was mistake #2, but she did not.
Other minor points that could have been better:
~We were not offered fresh ground pepper for the white-sauced pasta, which I consider a basic element of table service.
~The server did not serve us "ladies first," again, missing a rule of basic service.
~The restaurant seemed nice in general, but I was disappointed by the location. Sure, it's right near the water, but a camper-trailer campsite sits directly next door, so the view is of barking dogs and trailers, not the ocean.
I feel confident in saying this is not an above average restaurant, although I appreciate that my experience was probably partly just bad luck or a below-average server. I feel charitable giving T's three stars, based on the benefit of the doubt, as my experience there was more like one or two stars.
