My mother and I ate lunch at Alpenland twice during a four-day visit to Mercer Island. I had an egg salad sandwich on rye with three-bean salad the first time and the same sandwich with potato salad the second time. My mother has a chicken on rye the first time and joined me in the egg salad on the return visit. It was the best egg salad I've had in many years, and the rye bread was a cut above the bread you get in a grocery. The salads were homemade and the three-bean was exceptional. It's just a little deli and store with some tables, but service was great. We'll be back on my next visit!
