Rey's Landscaping

There is nothing like being verbally assaulted by a contractor to whom you owe nothing and have been extremely patient with. My husband and I must admit we are shocked and appalled at the behavior of Rey Jr, owner of Rey's Landscaping, and it has left an extremely bitter taste in our mouths for the professionalism of this contractor. We gave him our job, against our better judgment honestly, because he already had a couple pretty bad ratings. We hired him to build a cross fence along the sides of our home separating back from front. We contracted for a fair price (not cheap, but fair), were told the job would take a week, and Rey promised we would be happy with his work. The fence was finally completed, after numerous delays, in not one week, but three, just this past Sunday. Even at this point, we were still willing to add a side job for Rey to power wash and paint our front fence (as honestly we liked Rey and his Dad, albeit NOT the continuous line of stranger workers that were continually added to the job in an attempt to get it done). So, in addition to the delays, what started out as a team of two, Rey and his dad, turned into a stream of strangers coming to our home to help Rey finish the job. We tried to be as patient as possible and work with him, however, this week, after two more days of delay and excuses (when literally all that is left is painting the fence) we decided enough was enough and we'd finish painting the fence ourselves. We are completely paid up with Rey; we owe him ZERO, we are tired of the delays and excuses, and we no longer wish for new strangers at our home. We are private people who take our privacy and security very seriously. I will say the completed fence is beautiful. But under no circumstance is it acceptable to say, "Fu*k you guys" as he did this morning on the phone when we told him we would no long need him and would finish painting the fence ourselves. I add here >again< that we have paid them for ALL of their work so far and owe them nothing. We paid for all the materials ourselves, and have paid for all of their labor incrementally, even to include the power washing of the fence. So, bottom line is they are paid up, we charged them back absolutely zero for the labor and material mistakes that cost even more delays, have had to accept a continuous line of unexpected new workers at our home, have a beautiful side fence and a power washed front fence, and a big fat "FYG" for being done with the delays and continuous stream of unknowns at our property. If I could give 5 stars for the beauty of the fence, I would, but Rey's lack of professionalism this morning wiped out those stars. Under no circumstance is it okay to verbally assault your customers when you are in the wrong.
