Creekside Restaurant

I give it three stars because for the price, I would expect better food or better atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the portion of the burger I got was a good size. However, there was nothing particularly special about the burger I got - definitely not enough to justify almost $20 for it. The other items on the dinner menu sounded good, but I’m not a huge fan of spending a lot on one person. Another thing that was weird is how nice the site is, but the actual restaurant is kind of… not run down, but not super fancy? It’s take out right now with Covid, so the only seating is outside. This is fine for people staying at the lodge to go back to their room, but I would expect something to accommodate outdoor seating. There’s one covered table ; which when it rains means you probably won’t want to eat your food outside. (Heaters are expensive, but maybe some covered tarps would be nice?)

Highly recommend not stopping here. The website looks nice but it’s the worst disconnect from reality I’ve ever seen. The website menu shows “SUMMER MIXED GREENS SALAD - Small $8.50 | Large $12 Spring Mix, Fresh Berries, Goat Cheese, Smoked Apple Vinaigrette” and when we got there, they only had the Caesar salad on the menu. I asked if they had a spring mix salad and what we got was spring mix with a couple tomatoes and Newman’s dressing. We also ordered the shrimp and got a pile of them on the salad, unseasoned. The salad had limp, old pieces as well. The outdoor eating area is uncovered and unheated and annoyingly far from where you have to order and requires opening and closing a sliding door on the way.

Not the food I would expect for what I have been served with in the past , of some 40 years of visiting this restaurant. We were married here 26 years ago when this place was still a hidden treasure, now unfortunately due too terrible management, lack of staff ( because of extremely poor treatment of employees by current management-not to mention the lack of caring/compassion/the magic feeling you would experience from the prior staff and management) this oasis has been converted into a 'stop along the way ' while going to a first class place like LAKE QUINAULT LODGE ,or any of the Oceanshores establishments. I wish I could go back in time and stay at Kalaloch lodge back when the staff and management knew your name, and treated you like family- something that I experienced for 30 plus years. At the rate that management is going, this place will not survive. God bless the prior Kalaloch Beach staff!
