I had an appointment set for me with Heidi Swailes by TriWest as part of the Veterans Choice program. The location listed is incorrect, (She told me when I found her they'd moved 6 years previously). I called repeatedly to try to find the right location, but she and the gentleman with her had apparently left the building at the same time for lunch. When I found the correct location, it was shut tight, with no waiting area. Upon entering her office, Heidi asked me if I had trouble finding the place. I told her yes, and detailed the situation. She responded that, "It's difficult to contact the right people online, and that then they wanted her to sign up for elite..." - she trailed off, giving me the idea that she was aware of how inconcise this is. I suggested to her that while I understand those frustrations, that simply leaves the negative impact for her customers. She failed to respond with anything that validated that frustration or took accountability for her own inactions having a negative impact on the people seeking care from her.
I fully expect a therapist or counselor to be ready to hold themselves accountable, and to be able to be comfortable having a discussion about impact.
Seek care elsewhere.
