Sarah did our maternity shoot in her studio and it was so dreamy. She made us feel super comfortable which just made the whole shoot super fun (Even for my boyfriend who doesnt like to be in front of a camera) she is a true artist 10/10 recommend!!

Purple Fern is the BEST photographer in the Shenandoah Valley. Sarah's eye for detail and drama in photos is so great. We love her style for our family pictures and to document significant events and remember special times in our kids lives. Her studio on the Loudoun Street mall is so cute and comfy but my favorites are her photos of us "in the field." Sarah is great at making everyone feel at home and relaxed no matter where she's photographing and no matter how much your kid(s) don't want to participate!

Sarah photographed our engagement and wedding photos and I could not be happier! She is so unbelievably talented! She made us feel extremely comfortable, even my husband who normally hates having his photos taken. She has an incredible eye for detail and always knows what little tweaks to make to get the perfect shot. All of our family and friends loved the final photos. I cannot recommend Sarah highly enough!

Not even sure how to do this review justice. After being in a wedding Sarah photographed in 2018, I had no doubt that I would be going to her whenever I got married. Sarah takes exceptional care of her couples throughout the process and on the day of making sure to capture the importance of the day while advocating for the couple and their needs. My husband and I split our wedding into two events, holding our actual ceremony and a dinner reception in the fall in DC and a more typical reception-style event in the spring in Central VA at a private residence. When I tell you Sarah has range, there is no area she can't capture gorgeous images in. Her attention to detail and knowledge of lighting is unbelievable and makes for the most beautiful photos. Sarah has an ease and friendliness to her that makes for such a comfortable experience and like you have known her for years. Her second shooter Carla is also amazing and we had the chance to work with her during our spring wedding reception. Between the two of them, I have no doubt they captured the joy and hard work that went into putting this event on. We look forward to Sarah capturing many more of our memories for years to come.
