The owner before last, Richard Kim, ran Gamasot, a beloved sulungtang place, literally to the ground. With his lack of experience and management, and absolutely no customer skills, the clientele decreased dramatically.

They recently change to new interior and it's nice and cozy. Staff were well trained. I went here many times and now it's my favorite restaurant and great korean food and good service from welcoming staffs. I saw couple of other reviews and talked about services and food was bad, I think they talked about previous owner. This new owner and his family operate together and smile always with tasty food. Try this 'Korean BBQ' and ask them for cook way you want. I'm picky as hell but they even cooked way I asked (like medium rare) and still say 'Have a great day and please come back!' With smily face. Enjoy guys! I hope you all like this place!!

This tucked away Korean restaurant in Springfield, VA was a really amazing find. Quality Korean BBQ meat, delicious side dishes, an amazing salad - all contributed to a fantastic meal for just $15 unlimited Korean BBQ. It's a little off the beaten path, but completely, utterly worth it.
Until Richard Kim, the former owner, moved on to greener, better pastures. Ever since Richard Kim left and they changed owners, it just hasn't been the same. I used to love coming to Gamasot and getting Korean BBQ or sul leung tang or denjang jiigae. I went back a couple times after Richard left and it's been on a steady decline ever since. Just went back to Gamasot about two weeks ago and it was a disappointing experience.
No more Korean BBQ. They've upped the prices of their dishes, including the sul leung tang and denjang jiigae (not by much, maybe $2-3, but still). They've significantly reduced the number of side dishes. There used to be about ten side dishes that would come with your rice and entrees, but now it's 5-6. Taste wise, it's okay, but knowing how Gamasot once was and how much it's changed since then, it wasn't the best experience.
I'm still trying to find another Korean BBQ restaurant that matches the old Gamasot. I guess it's back to Honey Pig, Yechon, Lighthouse Tofu, and Oegadgib until I find it.
