I have had the pleasure of working with Bradford Custom Homes several times over the last 8 years. Their consistent quality, fine craftmanship, attention to detail and nice home designs make them one of my favorite builders to work with in the area. I have been a Realtor for 27 years and have worked with several builders. I highly recommend Bradford Custom Homes.

While we are happy with the overall quality of our home, we were dissatisfied with the lack of communication and transparency throughout the building process. The initial sales experience with the realtor is less than desirable and leaves you with the feeling of having worked with a used car salesman (in the stereotypical sense - no offense to those in that profession). There does not seem to be consistency with the information that is provided. For example, lots may be available, but as soon as you express interest in one, magically someone else is looking to purchase that lot right away. You may not get pricing numbers for a couple weeks but once you do, again, out of nowhere, someone is interested in the lot so you have to make a decision asap or you'll "lose" the lot. Often times, prices are removed from "price lists" or if provided, different numbers are given down the road after it has been determined what you want. In my experience, if you are confident in the quality of what you are selling or have even a modicum of sales skills, these amateur tactics need not be used. Also, throughout the process, note that you will generally only get a response to the exact question you ask. You will get no additional information, some of which will be relevant and are likely to be met with a blank stare. Further, their very small staff is stretched thin and because of that, you have to keep a close eye on your selections and modifications; if you do not catch a mistake early enough, and there will be plenty of mistakes, you will be stuck with what they did. This was not an isolated experience, as I have spoken to at least six others who have built and had very similar, if not worse experiences.
