DeBusk Originals, LLC was founded in 1987 by Mark DeBusk. Mark envisioned a local company that contributes to local and historical heritage with the medium of woodworking. Our twenty-five years of experience includes but not limited to milling lumber on our sawmill, kiln drying, manufacturing the final product by hand and machine, architectural woodworking, custom cabinetry, millwork & timberframe, finish carpentry, high-end and period furniture, restoration/renovation. Project types: from small residential to commercial to public use. We worked on variety of projects with a strong emphasis on historical renovation and restoration projects. Recent projects include but are not limited to Virginia Tech Robeson Hall Conference Room completed in 2005, and the remodeling and renovation of the Giles County Courthouse completed in 2006. The Giles County Courthouse was built by Thomas Mercer in 1836. Since Giles County Courthouse was an historic renovation project, the Courthouse required special attention to details and expertise in woodworking. DeBusk Originals, LLC was recognized at the rededication ceremony of the Giles Courthouse for excellence in craftsmanship. RoseWood Village Assisted Living at Hollymead Town Center in Charlottesville, Virginia completed in 2008, renovation of Solitude Farm House completed in 2010 and reconstruction and restoration of Historic Pulaski Train Station completed in 2011. DeBusk Originals, LLC completed the architectural woodworking for the Historic Pulaski Train Station in 2011. The Station burned to the ground in 2008. The planned restoration was to preserve and restore the original looks. In this project, DeBusk Originals, LLC made and installed 52,000 lineal feet of bead board, ten new wood sash windows and seventeen new doors to match the originals, casing, crown molding, and baseboard for the entire building. Other recent projects include architectural wood trusses for Woods Edge independent living development in Blacksburg, Virginia, and a wooden covered bridge in Pulaski, Virginia as a community anchor to bring back historic covered bridges in America – a community project initiated by Mark DeBusk. Our most current project is a unique high-end executive office furniture package for Heartwood Artisan Center in Abingdon, VA. In Heartwood Artisan Center project, only North American hardwood is used. Also, as the proof of DeBusk Originals’ commitment to a sustainable future, only wood that is harvested within 200 miles is used in this project. To create specialty displays to tell Southwest Virginia’s story through artisanship, DeBusk Originals, LLC designed all the desks, tables, credenza and bookcases for this project exclusively.
