I see Dr Ghosh, and she is the best doctor. I feel so lucky to have found a primary care doctor who really listens to me and shows me she really cares about me. It is easy to schedule appointments and get test results.

I recently visited Dr. Ian Giles aiming to establish care with a new primary care physician after relocating to Richmond to start a postdoc at VCU. My main goal was to continue my existing treatment for ADD, a condition I have been managing with prescribed medication since 2016, as evidenced by the medical documentation transferred from my previous provider. Upon my visit, I was informed by Dr. Giles that he does not prescribe stimulants to adults, citing a personal philosophy and the requirement for extra monitoring and care as his reasons. I was extremely disappointed by the impact of this stance on the continuity of my care. My medication has been instrumental in managing my ADD symptoms effectively, and I now have to seek treatment from my original PCP in Tennessee while I try to find a new doctor. This presents a significant inconvenience. I want to highlight that my medical history and lifestyle choices (I do not smoke, use drugs, or drink alcohol) demonstrate a responsible approach to managing my health and medication. Furthermore, my physical health, indicated by excellent vitals and blood pressure, does not contraindicate the use of ADD medications. I have years worth of medical documentation supporting this. I am sharing this feedback in hopes that Dr. Giles and his team might reconsider their policies and practices to better accommodate the medical needs and care continuity for their patients. Ensuring access to necessary medications and promoting a health-oriented practice environment are critical for patient trust and care quality

My family has used Bon Secours Powhatan Medical Associates since we moved to Powhatan almost 16 years ago. Over the past 5 years it has been extremely difficult to get an appt with their practice. Every time I call to get an appt for my child its the same reason, no appts go to urgent care. I completely understand that the medical system has low resources, but when this is a constant issue I have no faith in my PCP. With that I will say the providers are great, however when you can not get appts to see them its very disheartening.

getting refills on maintenance meds (talking antidepressants/inhalers/BP) is fraught with barriers. half get called in, half of those to the wrong pharmacy, and the other half of the requests fall into a void. unacceptable practice standards.

BY FAR the most poorly run, poorly managed "doctors office" in the area. I thought other Bon Secours offices were bad, but this is the worst! First, you have doctors talking about another patients alzheimers issues with other patients explaining why they are 2 hours late to your scheduled appointment, then when your doctors is on vacation, the other doctor decides to change what course of action your PCP has and instead decides on other things. This is a doctor I've NEVER seen before. I'll also be filing a complaint with the state medical board against the clinical supervisor and doctors at this location.
