Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center

My Uncle was terribly neglected at Shore Health and Rehabilitation in Parksley, VA. He was heavily medicated, severely dehydrated, and his personal hygiene was neglected. He was almost unrecognizable when family visited and he had only been there for four days. Please do not send a loved one here. If you have no choice I recommend checking up on them in person daily. I had to give it one star to post this. They truly don’t deserve even the one star.

We made the hard decision to enroll our mother @Shore health nursing home. They have been so nice and helpful through this next chapter in our lives. A special Thank you to Kim Bowden & Jackie Holloway for going above and beyond to help us with the couple hiccups we had in the beginning. You both are very special ladies to us. You have made this experience much easier for us and we are grateful. You are appreciated!

My father Clarence Bowden was in for rehab recently. The therapy team was able to get him back on his feet after suffering from a stroke. Everyone is helpful and caring. Often my dad is there for IV antibiotics but this time he needed a lot of therapy. You don’t go many places that the custodian is so kind and helpful. Just spending a few moments to stay and talk.Thank you,

I cannot say enough kind words to do Shore Health and Rehab justice. I had to sign my ex-mother-in-law out of another facility against medical advice because of the mistreatment she was receiving. When I called Shore Health they worked with me to get her moved to their facility within the day. Their staff have been so caring to my family member. They have been kind, pleasant, and provided care with a smile. They have been encouraging during the rehabilitation and I am so thankful they were there to help us through this difficult time. Tomorrow I am bringing my family member home from rehab. Thanks to all the staff at Shore Health for their help.

My mom recently sent a month rehabilitating after falling and breaking her hip and femur. Shore Rehab was wonderful in meeting her needs both physically and emotionally. Kim Bowden and her team made my mom feel welcome, cared for, and special. They also have done a great job managing the Covid-19 risk.My family was very fortunate to be able to visit my mom during this time and it was because Shore was very disciplined about making sure everyone was tested and was negative before allowing visitors. My temperature was checked before each visit and I had to answer the standard questions about my Covid exposure. I appreciated that as it reassured me that my mom’s risk was minimal as well. My mom spoke very positively of the nursing and physical therapy teams who helped her recover. We are grateful to everyone for all their help and care of our mom. She’s doing great!
