Probably one of my favorite places to go to for special events. They give a generous entree size and is very filling.

I enjoyed the food overall, a bit on the high end price. Free chips and salsa are tasty. Service was okay, I understand not everyone speaks Spanish in a Spanish restaurant which is fine. But our server completely messed up the check transaction because he assumed cash was for him which a server should never do. UPDATE: THEY ARE CLOSED DOWN

I wanted to like this restaurant visiting it more than a half dozen times in 2019. Dinner only. I dropped by on various week nights and several Saturday evenings dining at the bar. Bar is small having only 6 bar stools to my recollection and mostly I was the only person at the bar on my visits. I generally ordered à la carte - tamale, rice and flan. Always ordered margarita with chips to start, Tacate with tamale and rice and black coffee with flan. Complimentary chips and salsa to my taste were very flavorful. I liked that TG’s chips are thin. I dislike that margarita is made in bulk and served in mason jar. My recollection is that TG has an oversized stem glass that is bulky for doubles. Tamale was fair not close to the ones Pie Gourmet kitty corner on Maple Ave sells. The same bartender waited on me on most of my visits and he was unpleasant from the start to the point I decided to stop going there. In addition to being surly he did not spend any time behind the bar other than taking my order and bringing it out. The guy just disappeared making it impossible to get and extra napkin if one was needed to getting the check when ready to go. I always tipped 20% to the end but that had no affect on improving service. I then found Cyclone Anaya’s in Mosaic (unfortunately CA folded about 4 months after my discovering it) and of course their is the old stand by Anita’s al omg with new kid on the block Taco Bamba.
