Terrible experience. My appointments are made and cancelled without being notified. I drove all the way to an appointment that I was receiving reminders for as recent as this morning only to be told it was cancelled 3 days prior. Poorly ran and disorganized. I would go somewhere else if I had a choice.

This is for EVMS Hofheimer Hall location. I have to give credit where credit is due. After reading these awful reviews and dealing with some scheduling complications (them scheduling my appointments without speaking to me first, I even called my OB to go somewhere else), the appointments went very smooth. The staff was very friendly - they could use more signage though so its not as confusing when you walk in. I was actually registered quickly and taken back in a timely manner (about 10 mins past my appointment time). The ultrasound tech was very nice. The only thing that rubbed me wrong was being asked if I was okay with a cervical check.I declined (thankful that they asked me first). Not sure why this is a thing. I am over 18 weeks, there for an ultrasound and genetic counseling due to a positive Down syndrome test, I dont see where checking my cervix is relative and youre not my OB. My only other complaint is that the doctor came in for two whole seconds, said the ultrasound was perfect but there was a white spot on the heart that is loosely linked to Down syndrome and then disappeared with no further explanation. Thankfully the genetic counselor explained its usually just a calcium deposit that goes away. The counselor was a lot nicer and less pushy than I had planned for (I wasnt interested in even being there or having any further testing). Overall, it wasnt a bad experience. Worst part was trying to find a parking spot in their small lot (but theres a a garage right across the street).

After seeing so many negative reviews, I was worried about how my experience would be but I have nothing but positive things to say. I was referred to EVMS by my OB due to me needing a fetal echocardiogram and a more in-depth morphology scan. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile. I did not wait longer than 15 minutes past my appointment time (granted I did have the first appointment of the day). When they brought me back to the room my ultrasound began immediately. Afterwards I was given the option to speak to the doctor about the results as opposed to waiting for a phone call. I chose to wait and 15 minutes later was brought back to a room where I almost immediately got to speak to a doctor. She was so kind and informative, and I did not feel rushed at all. She answered all of my questions and informed me that no follow up would be needed. It was definitely bittersweet because I would not have been opposed to continuing care there. Overall, a really great experience.

Today is my first and last appointment with EVMS. Let me start off Id rather have my baby in the woods with Bears than deal with another EVMS visit. I had a 715am ultrasound appointment. Arrived at 7am to an unlocked office and no one there. Sat around for about 20 minutes until someone finally showed up. My appointment with Camille Kanaan was for 8am. The nurse that did my vitals told me to use the restroom and provide a urine same bowed me to a bathroom that was already in disarray. Peed in an unsealed cup and placed it into the window with another womans urine. Real sanitary there. Mind you there are no covers on the sample cups so I could have easily contaiminated this other womans sample. She took me to the exam room and started janbering on how Im probably not far enough along to hear the babys heartbeat. Had she read my chart she would have seen that I had an ultrasound that same morning and a recorded heart beat. With no explanation as to why its taking so long or given the opportunity to reschedule. After 1.5 hours of waiting for someone I went up to the front desk and had to ask if my provider was in and if he was in if he was even saying patients because there is no way being the first appointment of the day to be 2 hours behind. I was finally seen at 10am. His fellow came in and she was about as useful as google search engine. She couldnt tell me more than I already know and when both Kanaan and the fellow came in they both sounded clueless. They did make sure to offer my birth control options though after pregnancy. Good thing Im only 9 weeks. Oh and I have Endometrial cancer so my uterus will be removed shortly after delivery. No one at EVMS has knowledge of my condition nor have they had patients with active carcinoma so they are just as clueless as my OB. Ill be sticking with my OB or delivering in the woods. Contacted my OB and explained the situation and they have had numerous patients complain about the level of care at EVMS. Definitely time for the medical board to look into what is going on. Run! Run very far away.
