My friend took me to lunch for my birthday. I have a wonderful experience. The drive was beautiful. Upon my arrival, I was captive by the resort it is beautiful. I didn't want to leave. The customer service is amazing. I felt a warm welcome from everyone. It was an enjoyable experience.
Walkability: Beautiful scenery. Friendly horses. Loved seeing the famous mini horse Cupcake.

I took my mom to Salamander Resort + Spa for a mother-daughter getaway.
The resort is beautiful, the rooms were spacious, and the food was pretty good.
I really wanted to come away having had a great experience, but unfortunately that was not the case and in the end, I wish we had gone somewhere else for our girls weekend.
I booked the bed and breakfast package, but the resort charged me for the breakfast amount in addition to the package I purchased. I understand overages, but the amount they charged extra was much more than any overage we spent. The food and beverage director called me saying they would credit it back to me, but they havent done so.
There was a power outage so all of the elevators stopped working and a few spa amenities. The light in our bathroom burnt out. The phone in our room had repeated issues.
My mom and I did 2 spa services each. Hers were both lovely, but my last one was extremely disappointing. The woman was rushed, talked about very private things that made me uncomfortable, and told me she did not want to be there. It was also the worst massage Ive ever had. I spoke to a manager of the spa who refunded the service, but with all the other issues that weekend it was just one more thing.
Lastly, since I paid for the room and spa, my mom wanted to pay for food and drinks. That being said, at the end of each meal she handed them her credit card. For some reason, we discovered that the workers ignored that and charged it to our room instead. I called to ask about it and the manager (who was very apathetic and not at all customer friendly) initially told me I was wrong and my mom charged it to the room. I told them it didnt make sense that she would hand them her card then charge it to the room after they swipe her card already, to which she replied idk Ill ask the waitress.
So overall, the facilities were nice and the food was decent, but with the power outage, the room issues, the lack of working spa amenities, my awful spa experience, and the issues with them constantly mixing up my payments and overcharging me, this trip ended up being more stressful than anything else.
The food + beverage director called me to apologize, promising to refund my food credit and offering a free overnight. To this day he still has not followed up on either of those things.
Regardless, I wouldnt have gone back with a free night.
I recommend going somewhere else.
