Hi, I just found out Dr. Egge retired and I am extremely sad. Ive been with Dr. Egge since I was 4 years old. He gave me my first glasses at 5 years old, a strabismus surgery at 8, my contacts at 12, and lasik surgery at 18. I am 30 now, and Ive gotten a scraped cornea in Argentina and I wanted to come to manassas to the best eye doctor, ever, and sadly he doesnt work there anymore. if you see this Dr. Egge, congrats on your retirement! You are appreciated and missed.

Very negative experience with this doctor and the staff there. VERY POOR SERVICE. My husband was seen at urgent care today for an eye issue and told to followup with a same day eye appointment with an Ophthalmologist to double check his eyes issue. We double checked that they were covered before going to the office. They kept telling the patient first doctor that they did not take HMO and we told them several times that our insurance was a PPO. Of course we double checked with our insurance company both on the phone and on the website which said that they were covered. Of course when we get there the front desk person says that we are not covered and then talks to the "office manager" who also says we are not covered. Bear in mind that they are aware that my husband needs to be seen for a same day appointment due to an eye condition. They said we could pay out of pocket "self pay" or we were out of luck. We of course go home and schedule another appointment but unfortunately for us all the offices in the area close at 12p noon on fridays except for another office 30 minutes away. We had our insurance call and the insurance told us they accept the insurance. We try to schedule another appointment so we do not have to drive with our young infant daughter 30 minutes away. We are again told by our insurance that we are covered but again when we called are told that they do not take our insurance. No apologies. No niceties. Just "we can see you but no guarantees, the insurance will cover it". We literally just got off the phone with the insurance company saying that our insurance was accepted there. And this is private insurance to boot. Very unprofessional office.

I have been going to Dr. Egge for more than 20 years and have always found him and his staff to be professional, thorough and courteous. Dr. Egge has a reputation as one of the top Opthamologists in NoVa. Even my Primary Care Physician goes to Dr. Egge.
