Virginia Barbeque

I had the brisket which was very good. The meat was tender and moist. My sides were cole slaw and mac and cheese, neither of which were impressive. My fiance had the sweet potato fries and I tried some of those and they were very good. The fries were crunchy and sweet and did not have a burnt taste.

We ordered the North Carolina BBQ for 12 with sides and it was absolutely delicious! Best BBQ we have had around this area. The staff was extremely nice as well.

The Flys had more to eat than I did, the place needs work. The outside was remodeled, now they need to do the inside.

Excellent BBQ for the DC area and frankly, some of the best. I really want to give it 5 stars, but you can only get that in the midwest :) But for what this is, the price is great and everything is fresh.

Also, as a former employee I can vouch for the nastiness of this place. The can opener leaves pieces of metal in the food (Everything is canned) and when I stood up and said something A.C (the owner) told me to "mix it up well so nobody could see it. There are gnats and flies everywhere, not a single employee uses gloves, and I have never seen a dish properly sanitized. The pork had mold one day and again, I was asked to "pick the mold off and serve it". I was "fired" for refusing to serve unsanitary food and told that if I went to the health department he would not give me my last paycheck. We somehow get a heads up when the health dept is coming, so we clean eveything and that is the ONE time I have ever seen anything even close to that restaurant meeting code. I may seem like a disgruntled former employee, but I saw that someone else spoke out about this and thought I would as well. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO EAT REHEATED MOLD AND METAL SCRAPS DON'T EAT HERE! Ammendment: I was just contacted by the owner and he threatened to sue me over this review. Nothing I said here is untrue, or I would have removed it.
