This place is legit if you are a hardcore climber looking to gain or retain skills. At the same time it is also great for beginners to learn the skills and have fun doing it, and for a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly as well. I take my son there infrequently and he really enjoys it.

If youre going because you want a place to get a hard workout in this is a great spot. For a training climber this place has the old school vibe and the sandbagged grades to go with it which makes it really fun and hard. The implementation of the clip in system for top rope gives me significant pause. They use an archaic opposite & opposed locker system but dont seem to retie the figure 8 knots the carabiners are on very often and some of the tails on those knots are unacceptably short. Well less than 6 inches likely due to cyclical loading and lack of stretch in the rope. They also dont seem to flip the ropes or otherwise allow the ropes to recover their elasticity. I took a slight fall onto one of the top ropes with some slack in the system and it felt like I was going to snap in two due to there being zero stretch in the rope to provide a soft catch.

I would love to see an elliptical and treadmil here. I have no problem paying 100 a month to climb, but for that price, I feel like you should get basic gym amenities as well. Yes, I could go to Planet Fitness or whatever for relatively cheap, but I don't want to stop climbing and drive somewhere else to finish my workout. Free weights are fine. Nothing fancy, but it suits the needs of most. Just needs some kind of cardio machine. It's a bit small, but there are some interesting routes, and a few V2-V5s will satisfy most intermediate climbers. I haven't done top rope here because I enjoy bouldering more, so I can't speak to that. Also, a little more lighting or better lighting would improve the atmosphere, and honestly, it needs a really good cleaning. There are dust bunnies between the mats and the wall the size of my firstborn son. Not real hyped about it when I look down and see all the filth. Wouldn't take more than 30 minutes to vacuum up all the dust bunnies, although I'm sure it needs a more thorough cleaning than that.

Hey Casey! Our grades can seem sandbagged to climbers that are used to a more commercial gym setting VS spending time outdoors. We have heard it before. Your comment on the tails of our knots was concerning so I went to check and 2/14 TR lines had a tail less than 6" but not less than 5". The clip in system shouldn't come as a suprise, looks like you have been to our gym multiple times and it's not super uncommon to use this system. However I want to ensure you that we check our ropes and systems every week. The lack of a soft catch can be because you are on TR belay with a rope double wrapped at the top. We are moving away from using the carabiners on TR so climbers can tie their own figure 8. I hope this addresses your concerns.

We do have more affordable membership options sub $70. We are adding a new stationary bike next year, machines like that cost a lot of money and break often. As I’m sure you know small businesses were hit hard over the last few years and we have actually improved the gym a lot since 2020. We are not a large chain gym and a lot of customers want the tall walls. We hope to expand bouldering in the future. We clean 2-3 times a day. But thanks for bringing this specific location to our attention. We will have it cleaned.
