Total Construction Company

We can not recommend Total Construction Company enough! They completed our unfinished basement (living space, wet bar, bedroom, bathroom) and added a covered structure over our patio. Their price was competitive, quality of work was exceptional, and completion of work was timely. We even asked for a few changes along the way and they accommodated them without hesitation. Jeff, Jay, and team really helped bring our vision to life and we are loving our new space.

The construction team was ontime, clean, professional. Nice crew. They completed the bathroom remodel on time and met the estimate. No problems.

I requested a quote on their website, and was pleasantly surprised when someone called about 30 minutes before to say they were coming to see our space for the quote. I did not hear back for 3-4 weeks. I emailed and never heard back. After another 1.5-2 weeks, I called. I spoke with Jay, who rudely said, “yeah, we’re really backed up.” When I said I understood, but it had been a month and wanted to know when I could expect a reply, he said he’d get back to me in 15 minutes. That never happened. If this company treats clients like this before they are even hired, there is not way I’d pay them to do work. It’s a clear indication of the way I’d be treated throughout the project. Extremely disappointing. Edited because I don’t see a way to respond to their response - I was never given any information about a minimum dollar amount of work to be done - I was only told he’d be in touch. We do plan to do some of the work. If I had been told of a minimum requirement, I would have asked what it was and how to meet it, but I wasn’t told, so I didn’t know to ask. I have zero correspondence records - not even a confirmation of a request for a quote. I got a call when Jay was driving to me, no reply to the email I sent, and no follow up after I called. The “reply” from the business is a flat out lie.

We have had a terrible experience with Total Construction Company. First and foremost the company is not forthright and honest. They are not customer service oriented and and take short cuts whenever possible at expense of the home owner. We had two bathrooms, a bar, laundry room and a new roof done. The only thing that was done in a somewhat timely manner was the roof. This was done by a subcontractor to Total Construction Company. The roofing company showed up on-time everyday working between 0730 am - 7:00 pm. The owner, Fernando, provided on-site project management and supervision. The remodeling of the two bathrooms, bar, and laundry room was performed by Total Construction Company. What a disaster. No on-site management, we had workers asking us what needed to be done. Materials not ordered correctly or inventoried. Reuse of old material from previous jobs they had. They would show up at different times daily sometimes at 7:30 am, sometimes at 9:00 am. No communications on scheduling and worksite problems and issues. Single point of failure was the owner. Workmanship and Craftsmanship was marginal. Constant errors on measurements resulting in delays and reordering of materials, for example not centering a sink between cabinets or on the granite. I do not recommend this place at all.
