Walgreens - Closed

Every time I get a text message from Walgreens in Galax, Virginia, East Stuart Dr., saying my meds are ready, the pharmacy is closed. Today Dec. 8th at 1:38 pm I went to Galax to pickup my medicine, 3 medicine’s to be correct, the pharmacy was closed. My wife went in to find out why they were closed and she was told that the pharmacy was closed due to the pharmacist having a family emergency, Funny because 2 weeks ago they used the same excuse. The cashier was sitting on a chair playing on her phone and didn’t bother to get up to speak to my wife, so my wife talked to her over the partisan what we were supposed to do because I needed my med’s and the cashier told her I’d have to wait until Monday, Because, the pharmacy is now closed on weekends too!! My wife said how are we going to know you will be open when we started calling to see if the pharmacy is open and they don’t answer the phone and have to drive 40 miles to see if it’s open. The cashier said “I don’t know”. How do you expect to get customers their meds when you’re never open, except when you feel like it.?? Or answer the phone, when you feel like it.?? You people owe us gas money for the 80 mile round trips that cost us over a hundred dollars in fuel to find out your closed.!! No kind of notification’s to us letting us know that you are closed, and not a care in the world about the people who need their medicine. We have changed pharmacies because of this, and my advice to you people is to just close the doors, what’s the point in staying open when you can’t serve the people who need their medications, and a pharmacist who ALWAYS has a family emergency. I expect a check from you in the amount of $145.00 in fuel and my time, As I am on a very limited income due to being disabled.!!!! Send it to

The pharmacy is completely incompetent! Worlds slowest wether your prescription was called in a week before pickup or if it was called in a hour before pickup. Never if my life have I had to wait half-full day for a pharmacy to fill ONE “1” prescription. There have been times I’m only one there and no one in drive through or waiting and still taken hours upon hours.

Staggering numbers of positive Covid cases in this area and, not only customers without masks, two store employees were not wearing masks. I've given this pharmacy the benefit of the doubt before. This visit necessitated going inside and I witnessed this carelessness firsthand. I cannot excuse this behavior.
