M&H contractors inc services Handyman

I am always a bit skeptical when hiring a contractor to do a job, as I have had numerous bad experiences with numerous different companies, so I feel that I am a bit sketch when dealing with contractors until they are proven to be honest and respectable. Marlon and his team were tasked with a HUGE job, spanning through the entirety of the whole house, and including numerous drywall patches, electrical fixes and installations, and some plumbing. Marlon not only did a phenomenal job with EVERYTHING we asked for, but he did it for a very reasonable price. Marlon and his team were on-time every day they came out, were very productive during the time they were here, and communicated with us every step of the process for the 4 days they were here. Additionally, they cleaned up after themselves very well at the end of each day!I feel that Marlon is an honest, hard-working, knowledgeable contractor with a depth of expertise in numerous different areas. I will definitely be directing any home projects to him if they are outside of my own scope of comfort, and I would confidently recommend him to any of my friends, family, and strangers who are in need of a good, solid handyman/repair man/electrician/other.

On the advice of another contractor I hired Marlon to do some electrical work for me. I believed I was hiring him by the hour. He was responsive and came with a helper and the two worked for 8 hours, I asked him what I owed him and he said $500.00, which I considered fair, promptly paid and scheduled him for another visit. He came back Thursday Dec 30, 2021. He called on Wednesday and said he was bringing an additional helper. Marlon showed up approximately 7:00am . I provided all material for the job electrical boxes, devices , light fixtures and bulbs. He provided approximately 60 feet of 12-2 wire. They worked until approximately 2:30 pm. I asked him how much I owed him, he said $2500.00. I was shocked. Marlon and his 2 helper had worked 8 hours, and he was insisting on $2500.00. Marlon kept insisting, then it was $2000.00, then it was $1500.00, then it was $1200.00. I called the contractor that recommended him. The contractor is a Master Electrician, and said that when Marlon and 1 helper he changed the customer $80.00 an hour for the 3 of them. He said give Marlon $700.00. I made out a check for $900.00, Marlon refused it. Marlon then said $1000.00. I made out a check for $1000.00. Marlon grudgingly took the check for $1000.00. I said that $1000.00 divided by 24 hours is pretty good money for an unlicensed electrician and unskilled laborers. My point is if you hire him you better get a price in writing. To clarify M&H may have a Class "B" Contactors Lincese.However a search on the DPOR website finds no entries for Marlon Hernandez or M&H Contractors. Service: General construction

Marlon and his crew stayed all day to complete a lengthy job that included drywall repair, painting and wood paneling; even though he had another job over 2 hours away to complete the same day. This is the second time we have used M&H Contractors and we will use them every time we need work done - they are friendly, professional, fair and hard working. They are the best around! I contacted M&H Contractors to reattach a few shutters that got blown off, and remove a tree that got blown down, from the recent winter storm. Marlon Hernandez arrived around 10 AM today with his van well-supplied with tools. He reattached the shutters quickly, cleanly, and professionally, drilling new holes, and replacing the plastic bolts, and gluing them in. He came prepared with a gasoline chainsaw to cut up and remove the fallen tree. He also called his assistant lady to drive a small truck over to carry away the wood and debris. It was a tedious process, but they got it done cleanly. They got all these tasks done in 1.5 hours. Marlon Hernandez has a nice personality, and he charged me a reasonable price for these services. If I have any other home repairs that need to be done in Fredericksburg, I would contact Marlon Hernandez again. Service: General repairs
