I chose to come here to the ER for the first time instead of RMH and I will never make that mistake again. I have never felt so disrespected and treated so unprofessionally.

Husband transported there with a broken, visibly dangling arm. Horrific lack of treatment. We then went to Ortho VA in Lynchburg because the Augusta folks never even called him back. In Lynchburg, he was given extensive surgery with a plate needed to stabilize his arm! Augusta had just sent him home, arm just dangling there, no care or concern at all. The bone nearly popped through his skin, it got worse and worse! Thankful for Ortho Lynchburg where a wonderfully kind staff really cared that he had a broken arm.

My son’s Mother-In-Law was taken to AMC ER for changes in mental status. They would not allow any family to be with her nor did they ask the family what concerns they had. They just asked Debbie, the patient, why are you here, and because she had changes in mental status was not able to answer the question. What did AMC do? They discharged her without any tests stating you look fine to me. Two days later her symptoms worsened so they took her to Martha Jefferson where a large brain tumor was seen on CT scan. She had surgery the next day to remove the tumor that preliminary results show glioblastoma! Shame on AMC for not asking the family what the concerns were and not doing an evaluation! As a health care provider I am extremely disappointed with this negligence.
