I originally posted this review for the wrong restaurant. Rectifying my error. Jasmine Garden in Arlington Va is my go-to when I fly in from California. It's unpretentious but solid. Food is always terrific! Wait staff is polite and helpful. Everything on their menu is good!! I've been going there for over 5 years. Service is quick, and the staff is very gracious. Prices are always reasonable.The location is low key and blessedly serene and comfortable.They are open 7 days a week. And the take out seems to always be busy. Worth going!

It was a disaster dining here!! Extremely unpleasant experience with the owners arrogant attitude. Two version menus, but charge even much than the expensive one. No service at all but charge 18% tips mandatory. Yelling at us when we asked them to let us make the decision for the tips. Wont come back again.

This restaurant exists discrimination issue. Double check the price on your menu. A middle-aged waitress with long hair who speaks Chinese is very rude. This restaurant has different menus for Chinese and Americans, different prices on the small bills, and a mandatory 18% tip for five people at lunchtime. Because of the poor service and the different prices, we said we didn't want to tip. The waitress shouted to us, "You must tip, I am the one who collects tips. I just don't like to serve Chinese people like you." When she was asked why the menu was more expensive for Chinese people, she explained the same dish to the American and Chinese is different, because the Chinese seasoning more so expensive, see the customer is Chinese to give the Chinese version of the menu. She said" Post me on social media, I don't care. We don't need Chinese customers". 1. As consumers see their receipts and menu prices are not the same, can not ask the reason? 2. Shouldn't the price of treating dishes of different racial groups be the same? 3. We understand the need for waiters to tip, but at least look at your own service attitude? The last thing the waiter said was "you don't want to come, don't come. I don't need you to come". Yes, there is no next time for this kind of attitude.
