image Dr. Buyer and the hygienists at this office do a great job, but I've been there three times now, and EVERY time the office staff has been completely incompetent. They don't check your insurance and how much they will pay ahead of time, they don't send records to your other doctors when they say they did. Today they didn't the x-rays I'd had this past spring to a new dentist. I had to call them a second time when I was there and I told them I wouldn't come back and that it was because the office staff was incompetent. The lady that answers the phone is very sweet but no one else in the front office ever does their job. I am switching to Dr. Aaron. I hope they are better.

image My periodontal treatment (from Dr. Maryam) was excellent, and the office seems very well run. However, I am having a hard time now with an insurance claim -- they say they sent it in [snail-mail:
really????], the insurance company has not received it (in 3 weeks), and I'm getting no actual response from multiple attempts to contact the person in this practice who handles insurance. Very frustrating and not a good way to end an experience with them.

image I was referred here by my dentist to investigate a potential dental implant I needed. When I walked into the building I noticed there was a sign posted on the front door stating one MUST wear a mask to enter the building. That's good, considering COVID cases are nearly at all-time highs right now. However, when I arrived at the front desk I noticed that not a single one of the four employees behind the desk was wearing a mask. After greeting me and handing me some paperwork, I asked one if the staff at the office were wearing masks. I received a curt "What?" in reply, as if I had asked something that personally offended her. When I repeated my question I was told that everyone in the back was wearing a mask. A bit later I was taken back to a room and told the doctor would be in shortly. Just after I started to hear repeated coughing. They were not dry coughs; they sounded like wet, productive coughs from someone with a cold. I turned around and discovered an employee with burgundy scrubs seated at a desk just outside the room. Her surgical mask was fully around her chin, exposing both her nose and her mouth, as she was having this coughing fit. At this point I left the office without seeing the doctor. Perhaps Dr. Buyer is competent, but I felt absolutely unsafe in his office. They are not following the guidelines posted on their own door, let alone CDC guidelines.

image I have to agree with Linda F. Having worked in dentistry for 25 years and having a daughter who has practiced dental hygiene for over 30 years, I was appalled at Lentz's recommendations for dealing with the pain I was experiencing on the lingual of one molar. When he suggested removing the crown, I knew he had no idea what was going on. I may as well have just had the tooth extracted. Then, when I asked about my daughter consulting with him and asking questions beyond my comprehension, he claimed to be most agreeable, giving me his card and email; however, he never responded to my daughter's inquiries. I despise insincerity. No, I believe this practice is just out for the money, not to actually help people with their teeth and gums.I ended up driving to VCU in Richmond for competent and compassionate care.
