The Jefferson

Horrific experience with my mother. "Skilled Nursing"???? They only had an aide who wasn't even authorized to give meds. Staff yelling at patients, terrible food - just awful all the way around. I wouldn't even put a pet there let alone a person. DON'T believe the glowing online reviews, this place is a DISASTER! P.S. Their response to my review is bot generated - they couldnt care less. These facilities are just sucking up Medicare dollars and delivering minimal services in return. Very sad that this is what passes for elder care in this country.

I don't live at the Jefferson, but I've lived right next to the building for years now. Keep in mind I am writing this review from this perspective, but I think it's relevant. This Jefferson is, in my opinion, the largest consistent producer of noise on the block by A LOT. The main (but not only) culprit? LEAF BLOWERS. I literally just now watched two grown adults with leaf blowers gather NOT EVEN half a bag worth of leaves. To be clear, I blame their manager and not the worker. But, c'mon y'all. I have no idea how their residents live with it, but as someone living NEXT to this building I am frankly fed up. If you don't mind the sound of leaf blowers running half the day, then by all means sign up.

I enjoy each day at The Jefferson. The activities ranging from physical, intellectual and cultural are great...stimulating. My fellow residents are quite a unique group....people of tremendous accomplishment with a great mix of brains and heart. Its urban location is so convenient and presents a wide choice of walkable activities. TJ is a great place!

I have been calling, asking and still after 6 months not one person can explain why the Pet Farm is not open or when the retail space will re-open. What a scam. Covid is not an excuse for a service or retail business to whine and rip folks off. Please keep the religion card out of the equation. The owners do not work and had no business allowing a groomer to work on dogs without a proof of Rabies vaccination. Dreadful excuses of how to not treat animals. Why would I send emails to an info @ blah blah. You want me to continue chasing folks for an answer? Why not you pick up the phone or email me?

The Jefferson has the best location of any Independent Living Senior Condo Community in Northern Virginia. It's in exciting Ballston, a block from a metro station and downtown D.C., as well as every type of service available one needs--shoe repair, groceries, tailoring, dry cleaning, and loads of fun and fabulous restaurants.
