I don't usually write reviews but my experience at Eventide was unpleasant from beginning to end. I arrived a few minutes before my dinner reservation and was seated in one of the fancy booths in the dining room, I was the only person there at 6:30 pm. I asked if the Happy hour specials were available in the dining room or if I had to order at the bar . I was told I had to order at the bar. Well, I am willing to walk downstairs to save myself $7 for a glass of wine and the person I was dining with had not arrived yet. So I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Unfortunately, the bartender only heard the Sauvignon part and poured me a glass of Sauv Blanc. I accepted it because I am not a complainer and figured it would be fine. It was, although it was not the glass of red I was expecting. My companion arrived and he ordered a drink and we went upstairs. When we returned, a few more diners had arrived and I was re-seated in one of the smaller tables along the edge of the room. I guessed I was being punished for ordering the half priced drinks downstairs. We order, I got the little gem wedge and the cinnamon braised short ribs. The Little gem wedge was underwhelming in size and flavor except for pepper. There were two pieces of Romaine heart and three thin slices of asian pear and about a tsp of pepper. For $13. Then my short ribs arrived. Cinnamon braised is accurate, you can taste nothing but cinnamon and my mouth started to burn from the overwhelming use of the spice. I could not finish it and it was only about the size of a deck of cards. The ribs were served with two pieces of tasteless steamed kale and about a tablespoon of sweet potatoes smeared across the plate. $28. I told the server that it was unpleasant and she implied that I was not the first person to complain about the overwhelming taste of cinnamon in this dish. She offered to get me something else but since nothing seemed to be working, I declined. My companion had ordered the mac and cheese and all I could taste was the bechamel sauce. It was rather light on cheese. The place is beautiful, the service was fine but I can't believe the food I was served. We live a few blocks away and never again.

Classy and cozy but food and service made this restaurant a place not to revisit. Service was extremely slow and scanty portions were not comenserate to the high prices. The teaspoon of soup before the meal was not tasy or warm. The main entries for a party of four were devoid of vegitables promised on the menue and the fish and meat were tough and devoid of taste. The coffee was weak and not at all recommended. Over all save your money and do not be fooled by the fancy and cozy atmoshere. It is not worth it. Robert

Wow. Called to make a reservation. First guy answers the phone with a "Yo!" I ask to make a reservation, and was handed off to a young person who arrogantly insisted I had the wrong day, "No, June 20th is a Wednesday, not a Friday." I corrected her, but to no avail, as she was insistent. I literally had to hang up, look at a calendar to make sure I was right and call back. When doing so, was told again twice that I had the wrong date. At this point, I was beyond irritated and told the young lady to "Go look at a calendar." When she realized she was wrong, she told me that I didn't have to be rude. When I asked to speak to the manager, she refused, insisting she was sorry. This went back-and-forth, literally, five or six times, with me asking to speak to the manager and the reservationist refusing to do so. I finally had to put my wife on the phone as I was so incredulous, I couldn't speak. My wife indicated she would go to the internet if the manager wasn't put on the phone. Finally, I reached the manager who was gracious and professional. I haven't even been there, but seriously? They have the wrong people on the phones.
