Union Jack's

I went to Union Jacks for Thirsty Thursday and the pizza was good and the beer was cheap. It's a great place to dance and enjoy a night out with young professionals.

Maybe the least British pub I've ever been in. Ate there twice this week for lunch. Wait staff was attentive one busy day and couldn't have cared less another. Draft beer selection is lacking; woefully short on actual English beers. Guinness, Bass, Newcastle are nearly American at this point. Fullers' Porter on tap was a nice surprise though. Fish and chip lunch size is one fish. Would have preferred that spelled out on the lunch menu. It was good otherwise.

I have never experienced such lousy service anywhere in my life... The hostess seemed nice and attentive at first, but that was a tease. NO ONE came by the table for about 35 minutes. Once a server finally showed up, a drink took another 20. I never saw her again for another 30. Second drink ordered and 30 minutes later, still waiting on it... What a joke. The table next to me waited just as long. So much so that by the time the server showed up, they were not serving the dinner menu anymore... I would have been in the same boat had I ordered any food... Take your money somewhere else...

You quickly forget you are in Ballston Mall in this large British-inspired pub. Its the perfect spot to grab a drink before (or after) a movie. The food is acceptable and the beer selection is pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit (mostly due to its mall location) but if you are at the mall, its a great spot to hit up.
