        The VA says your attitude is "Once a pre-diabetic, always a Diabetic." Is such pessimistic talk true? I cut out all sugar, candy sodas, oj sugar added. Went on PBS tv nutritionist book "Fast Metabolism" for 18 months. Read every food label , 4g of sugar is almost a teaspoon, much more informative measurement. Neuropathy tingle in left finger tip went away. A1C dropped dramatically. Diet info in 50s and 60s was so Wrong about Crisco hydrogenated veg oil, liberal use of sugar, big bowl of carb and sugar cereal for breakfast. Margarine instead of butter. Bad food pyramid. Most MDs don't know nutrition or exercise physiology still. Mine says, "Don't take any supplements, even a multivitamin."

        This association must encourage the right foods to eat. Plant based diet as suppose to all the meat being advertised on their web page. Sad.
