I’d had a rental property for many years and always managed it myself. when I decided to move out of the area I wasn’t ready to sell ready but wanted to see the property leased to good tenants and maintained in the proper manner. A friend recommended Bluestone to me and after talking to Steve Kindrick and his staff I made the decision to go with them. The house was cleaned, repainted and rented within the month. Those tenants are still there 2 and one-half years later. They have had only one maintenance issue of which I was immediately notified and consulted on. Cindy and then Daniella kept me up to date on what was going on, depositing the rent check each month. I could not ask for a better owner’s experience and I would venture to say the tenants must agree with me. I sold the house this spring but I’d hire the Bluestone team again in a minute

Too bad there's no way to give them ZERO stars. They either do nothing about your house problems, or do the absolute minimum. They like to "think about" things before getting back to you. This usually means they take 6-8+ weeks to respond to any issues, including mice, etc... If you want the absolute worst that real estate agencies in NOVA have to offer, I highly recommend them. Steven and Cindy in particular, are just fab... LOL

I rented a Bluestone Realty house for three year. They know maintenance and management very well. I was always treated with prompt respect and would recommend working with them in the future.

We rented from BSR for 1 year out of the Port Royal building in Alexandria VA and they were consistently poor in their service to us. They were very slow to fix simple problems in the apartment ranging from light fixtures not working in the kitchen to a broken bathroom door - both of these problems persisted for nearly 2 months before resolution. Particularly unacceptable when you consider the fact that their office was in our building. They promised the landlord would paint and lay new carpet before we moved in, neither of which turned out to be true. When we moved in there were carpet stains and smudge marks on the wall. We delayed our move in by one or two days while they shampooed the carpet and spot cleaned the walls. They didn't tell us before we signed the lease that there would be an 8 month balcony replacement project going on in the building - we thought this was pretty shady of them considering the project was to start on the day we moved in. 5 months of jackhammers and a closed off balcony. In the end they docked my security deposit despite having thoroughly cleaned the apartment. While they are not directly responsible for all these issues, they could have communicated a lot better with us and in short we found them to be slow, unresponsive, disinterested, disorganized and generally poor at most things having to do with managing the property once I signed the rental agreement.
