Formerly 'Casablanca'. Very attentive and polite waiters. Available seating includes elevated,semi-enclosed, many pillowed, booths. Most entrées between 17-21$. Truly delicious lamb chops with lemon roasted potatoes. Also delicious and very generous portioned was the shank of lamb with olives,carrots, rice 'Tarifa". It was preceeded by an also excellent salad of eggplant, carrots, cucumbers with grilled flatbread triangles. Noteworthy value, delicious dining in a unusual décor!

The staff were very kind, and helpful. The food was authentic and tasted great. Definitely do a round of tapas for the table so you can get as many flavors are possible.

Having a Food Allergy to Gluten and Dairy products, I figured Mediterranean cuisine would be a good choice for the night. Walked in and explained my wheat and dairy intolerance to the Owner/Chef Samir. He immediately assured me he had the perfect dish for me. A healthy dish that's full of Flavor, I summoned..... Samir brought me one of the finest prepared Lamb Shanks I have ever tasted. Hands-Down, every item served, was amazing to my pallet with such brilliant and fresh ingredients. I became joyful as I ate, and felt so much at home with the staff. Do you know I loved it so much, I returned to Bistro du Soliel the last 3 nights of my 2 week stay here in Alexandria, VA. My only regret was that i found this place for 3 of my 12 nights here. When I return, I promise, I will try to eat here every night. Samir has a way that his recipes are fresh, healthy, and prepared to elevate and exite your pallet. No other Restaurant I visited, had the quality and exquisite taste of which Samir carefully prepares in his Kitchen. As a lover of Food, a foodie, and a person who never comments or reviews a restaurant, I have gone out of my way to inform everyone visiting the Metro DC area, Bistro du Soleil will not let you down, regardless of your diet or pallet requirements for a meal. The waiters are ridiculously friendly and warm!!!! The lighting us very cool and trendy and the place features cushioned seating as well as regular tables. I like to eat alone sometimes and the waiter said, we will be your company this evening. How nice! The only thing was the food wasnt phenomenal.....a bit tasteless. Sti a great spot for a first date!
