This company has some of the most terrible policies and they truly don't care about their customers! What service company requires a contract but doesn't communicate when your contract runs out? Instead, this company simply lets your contract run out and then doubles your rate. Then I have to spend 2 hours on the phone trying to rectify the situation. I've been a customer for over 15 years and now I'm now actively searching for a new company asap!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I am one that normally likes to write positive reviews but the customer service here is HORRIBLE! I called to get a propane tank filled that is used for our tenants fireplace (not a main heating source). When I called to schedule the install I provided my address and stated I needed it filled as the tenants used it all last year. The lady told me that the tech would be out tomorrow and provided a completely different city (so I again reminded her my address which she clearly didnt look up the first time). She claims that someone must be home ALL day and she cannot give any indication of when they will show up. (not even morning or afternoon) I asked if they could possible even give me 2hrs notice or have the tech call when on the way (which is VERY easy to do and pretty standard) and she told me that "they dont do calls and if we are not home when they arrive then they will put a lock on the tank after filling". She could not have been more rude and basically said that this "is my fault for running the tank to zero %" I am a firm believer is good customer service so if you can find another option, I would definitely use them rather than AmeriGas

I have been a customer since 2013, when I moved into a rental property. My landlord insisted that I keep the gas company he uses. So I did. All went well the first year, until the woman who used to work at the Rutland office left. It was downhill since. I am on a fixed income, and have only so much to spend a month on my utilities. Amerigas did not work with me. Their plan was based on a four month full payment, which was difficult for me to come up with. Their billing system is the worst of any I have encountered in all my years. They do not seem to care about the customer's needs at all. They keep adding late fees, even when you pay monthly what you supposedly agreed to with the supervisor. When you send them emails, they don't respond. It does not help that they charge the highest fees for their propane. I only got results after contacting the main office. Even after I threatened to cancel my account, the woman at the office in Rutland sounded as if she could care less. What kind of customer service are they pushing? VERY UNHAPPY and am ready to cancel my service.

Absolutely worst utility / company ever created. My initial experience was moving into a new apartment and they shut off my gas the first day with no warning. That was understandable because I didn't switch service over to my name but when they came back to turn it back on they performed a "leak check" and for the next week all I could smell was propane. Eventually I called their emergency service and had someone come out and said that it was indeed leaking and have never passed a leak check ontop of that 3/4 of my 100 gallon tank had leaked... From there I've had two fill ups both of which they FAILED TO SETUP A DELIVERY TICKET resulting in my tank getting drained. And not to mention every time I call they Cant seem to figure out what's wrong because they are constantly "updating their computer sysytem" and I quote "cannot deliver fuel". To sum it up if you can avoid them at all costs...

My wife and I were out of town during January and February. And we knew we would not have enough propane in our 500 gallon tank to keep the heat going until we returned on Feb 23rd. I called the Williston office on February 4th, spoke with a woman named Amy, told her we wouldn't have enough propane to get through until the 23rd, and asked to have the remaining 100 gallons on our prebuy contract delivered as soon as possible. She assured me she would get it done. But, SHE NEVER ISSUED A DELIVERY TICKET, AND THE PROPANE NEVER GOT DELIVERED! As a result, we ran out of propane and our heat went off the day before we got back. Our house was at 35 degrees when we walked in, over half of my house plants (some of which I had had for over 30 years), had died from the cold, and a pipe had burst and flooded part of our basement. A big mess, had to file a claim with our Allstate (They were terrific, by the way.), and we still have not settled compensation for the Amerigas employee's negligence. It's obvious to me that she was neither properly trained, nor properly supervised. If they didn't own our tank, they'd be history!
