3rd Alarm Charters

Great charter operation that offers multi species fishing on Lake Champlain & other waters of Vermont!

Unfortunately we never had the chance of ice fishing with 3rd Alarm Charters. My wife and I were coming all the way from Pennsylvania and were in constant communication with Matt. He was very helpful and responsive to questions leading up to the trip. On our way up to Vermont, however, I received a phone call and text stating that conditions were too miserable due to the slush from the recent snow storm...and he wouldn't feel right charging us. The reason I'm giving this a low review is because we ended up having a great day on Lake Bomoseen with another guide. Was it slushy? Yes. Was it miserable? Not at all. We had a lot invested in the trip up to that point (traveling, hotel, fishing licenses) and the fact that he had to cancel because of "less than ideal conditions" was shocking. Matt seems like a nice guy but I have to share my experience.

Amazing experience!!!! We learned so much, felt very comfortable, and enjoyed Captain Matt's company and expertise. We will 100% book again!
