Sal's Italian Restaurant-Pizzeria

Ordered the eggplant and it had a serious case of freezer burn. Ordered the ravioli and they were weirdly sweet. But server was pleasant so she gets 2 stars. We wont be back.

My husband and I happened to go to Sal's one night 2 weekends ago after leaving an establishment up the street that had a dirty restaurant and sustandard service. I had never been to Sal's and you can bet that we will be regular's from now on!! Their food was amazing and the waitstaff was extremely friendly! The restaurant was clean and had a really old school vbe to it. It was not fancy, just a really relaxed hometown restaurant with excellent food. I had the stuffed shells with vegetable soup and my husband had a baked sausage ziti. The sauces used were incredible they were not at all acidic and had the perfect amounts of spices for me as I have a sensitive stomach when it comes to tomato based sauces. We also ordered wine, and a mushroom appetizer that was nothing short of incredible. I cannot say enough about this place. It definately is a rare gem in a city such as Rutland!
