We live close by to a home that Etna Properties bought nearly three years ago in Holladay in an effort to flip. However, they let this property sit without any reparations for a very long time. They let the yard deteriorate and were neglectful of the property during construction. Now we recently learned that they are planning on trying to make the property a rehab home even though it is walking distance to an elementary school and in a cul-de-sac in a very nice residential neighborhood. I would not trust them to buy or sell any property.

We also live close by one of their properties and they don't maintain the yard at all. It is full of weeds. One big eye sore for our neighborhood. I would never use them to do anything for us. They have failed at flipping a home in one of the best real estate markets in years. I think their last ditch effort to make money on the property will also fail. DONT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING.

  • Holladay Neighbors

This account is comprised of about 10 - 12 neighbors in Holladay. We all live very close by to a home which was purchased by Etna Properties in 2013. ETNA bought the property for a higher price than it was worth, thinking they could just flip it with very little work. And then they have sat on it for more than four years and have been the WORST property owners you can imagine. They completely neglected the yard and at one point, they had 10 foot tall weeds growing on the property. When we complained to the city and the city made them come 'mow their weeds', the owner came and flipped the bird at the neighbors. It's not a very friendly relationship. They have attempted to renovate the home, but have done such a poor job of doing so. Their intent now is to convert the property into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. But I cringe to think that they will attempt to work with vulnerable people with disabilities. The renovation work that they have attempted to do is embarrassing. Every time we've seen potential buyers view the home, they comment about how poor the workmanship is on the renovations. The roof work looks cheap and the trusses look suspect - and they've left openings into the house, completely open to the elements. We have never see a home look considerably worse after a renovation than it did before - but take a look for yourself at the 'before' and 'after' photos. As neighbors, we have spoken with a buyer of another property that Etna has 'flipped' and the common theme is that ETNA cuts corners in all of their work. I can't imagine that they will try and operate rehab facilities - or that a legitimate business would ever purchase a property from them knowing how poorly their work is done.
