What an incredible place and team for health and healing for children! I can't say enough good about every aspect and the providers my children have seen.

I have waited for three years to write this review because I initially thought that I just had a bad experience. However, over the past 3 years it has become apparent that our experience with Primary Children's Hospital has left my child with extreme separation anxiety. It should be noted that this occurred during the Covid 19 pandemic. My 3 year old had aspirated a peanut and needed surgery to have it removed. Before even looking at my child or attempting to help Primary Children's demanded $500.00 up front. I brushed this off because most Hospitals do require payment before giving aid (unfortunately). Due to this all occurring during Covid 19 they would only allow one parent in the room at a time. At first this didn't bother me but when it came time for my wife to get a break and some much needed sleep the hospital staff were not helpful at all. I went to the front desk and met with security as protocol. They provided me with a little key card that was supposed to let me into the room where my child was. Well due to their rule, my wife had to leave my child unattended until I could get into the room to take her place. So after my wife had left I made my way towards the room. However, the key card that they gave me would not let me in. The nurses rather than helping told me that I needed to go talk to security at the front desk once again. After three trips back and forth I was finally able to get into the room to see my child only to discover that my 3 year old child had been left unattended the whole time. It was very obvious that none of the nurses who's desk was just outside my child's room had even checked on him. He was bawling his eyes out and had a messy diaper that had gotten all over the crib that he was laying in. The worst part was he was attempting to climb out of the crib that set up pretty high with nothing but a hard concrete floor to catch my child. To say I was upset is an understatement! Then a nurse finally came in and began to question me why my child was crying. The nurse was very rude and made the comment that my child had not been crying while my wife was in the room. I felt as if the nurse was accusing me of something. But I bit my tongue in order for my child to receive the care that he needed. My wife also informed me that the nurses were rude to her the whole time she was there as well. After it was all said and done I thought about leaving a review with our experience but figured maybe we just had a bad experience. However, the past few years it had become apparent that the whole incident left my child with extreme separation anxiety. Me and my wife can't even leave a room without telling my child where we are going first. If we fail to tell him, he immediately begins to panic. And forget about having a babysitter watch him, we tried one time and were gone for an hour before being informed that my child had thrown up as well as peed and pooped his pants. The first thing he asked when we quickly returned home, is why did you leave me? As a parent this is the moment I realized I needed to let other parents know about the awful experience we had at Primary Children's Hospital.
