Emerald City Smoothie

The owner is super friendly! He’s a great guy and very helpful but their smoothies are just sugar water. They’re really just ice and fruit flavored syrups. When I complained that it was to sweet he was very ready to help but he just added ice and blended it agin trying to water it down. Not where I’d go looking for a healthy smoothie.

They are not my cup of tea. I wish they had more just natural smoothies without all of that add in stuff. I tried Something with lime and it was ok. More frothy than I would like and slightly gritty. My wife tried one with coconut and it was just weird. Their blender blended it just enough to make it tiny pieces. I would have rather either had full coconut or had it blended well. I am glad that they are here for those that like them, but for me I would rather make mine at home.

I’ve gone in so many times I can’t count. When I get the owners they are always very nice and obviously love what they do and it shows! Unfortunately their employees don’t feel the same. I asked for a peanut passion and I could tell that the young woman taking my order was overwhelmed by the orders ahead of mine since she was all by herself. She had no idea what to do with my perks card and looked at me like I was stupid for handing it to her (you have to scan it so that I can get my rewards lady) and tossed my receipt down in a way to show she was irritated. I didn’t say anything because I know that feeling having worked with food before. It’s tough. The only difference between me and her is that I never once let the customer show that I was irritated. I waited a while for my food but again I understood and was patient. When I finally got my smoothie I said thanks and left only to walk out and realize she had given me a 24 oz not the 32 I had ordered. I went back in and said “sorry I got a 32 not 24” as nice as I could say it because honestly I wasn’t irritated because I understood. I didn’t get irritated until I was driving home and realized that it tasted terrible! What they did was pore the old smoothie into the blender and added water to make it 32 ounces!!!!! And I thought my smoothies were terrible! It is interesting how just having one horrible experience makes me never want to go back...it’s a shame. I just don’t understand why the girl would treat me horribly and then water down my smoothie instead of making it all fresh! I was super nice the entire time and even apologized even though it was HER mistake in the first place!

Used to frequent here for an early morning shake but now they don’t open until 8am... ☹️essentially meaning I won’t be back.
