I highly recommend Dr Dewey. He delivered my second baby earlier this year, which was a VBAC. I was very appreciative of how he was so willing to accommodate my birth plans in addition to having a VBAC. He was extra careful with my pregnancy, as it was considered high risk. On my very first pregnancy appointment with him, he met with me in his office and we talked for about 20 minutes about my expectations, my birth plan, and what questions I may have. I have NEVER had a doctor do this, and I was extremely impressed by this. I was unhappy with my previous OB during my first pregnancy because I felt like I was part of an assembly line of patients. This was NOT my experience with Dr Dewey. Although I was able to push the baby quickly during delivery, I was vomiting toward the end and Dr Dewey asked if I would like to have an episiotomy in order to help get the baby out quicker. Even though I did not plan to get an episiotomy, I was glad to have the option in order to avoid more vomiting. I was also bleeding heavily after the delivery, but Dr Dewey worked quickly to pinpoint the issue and stop the bleeding. My stitches healed well and I have no remaining issues. He is very knowledgeable, very experienced, and I would recommend him to any woman seeking a great OBGYN.

We saw Dr Dewey for our firstborn, from beginning to end. To sum the experience up, he is a doctor who is straight to the point. You can tell he has been doing this for decades and can probably do a delivery with his eyes closed. That being said, Dr Dewey is a man of few words and he can be described as not very personable. My husband and I sometimes wished he was the "friendly and warm" doctor who will try to get to know you but his approach is to just cut straight to business. I don't think he will go the extra mile for us. Still, we can tell he knows his stuff and we felt good our baby will be fine. Most of my appointments are extremely short maybe 5 minutes. Sometimes I had to wait more than half an hour in the room because he was swamped with patients. Speaking of the office, the ladies were always very nice. I appreciated that. If you choose Dr Dewey, you have to be extremely proactive in asking questions and telling him your concerns if any. What I appreciated was that Dr Dewey was avaliable and ready when I delivered. On that day my son was 3 weeks early and had the cord wrapped twice. This did not faze him at all. He was super calm. Dr Dewey checked on me during and after the birth. As the obgyn he was less interested in my baby and more attentive to me and how I'm recovering. This was good since all other staff paid more attention to my baby. He was respectful and gentle when handling my baby and me. I wanted to avoid an episiotomy but he had to do it in the end, although I didn't get a clear explanation about that. This was something I wished I got more explanation about... I wondered if it was medically necessary or if it was just more convenient for him. I have some doubts that he had my best interest in mind but this might be because he's not as personable. I was also initially worried about how I would heal but I eventually did heal without any complications. That shows that Dr Dewey did good stitches. Overall, it was not a fantastic experience but everything did go smoothly and that's all that matters. Dr Dewey is a solid doctor.

I have so many problems with this office. An example: He went to walk me back for an ultrasound and literally walked in on another one of his patients who was not dressed waiting for him in the same exam room. One of the most unprofessional offices i have ever been to!
