Pam, I am sorry for the misunderstanding with my staff. My estimator was trying to explain that we could write a visual estimate, but for an accurate assessment, some of the damaged parts would need to be removed to see any hidden damages. An estimate is called an "estimate" because we can only calculate the cost based on what we are able to see initially. FCR does not charge for estimates. However, we always like to communicate honestly that there may be additional cost associated with the repair after disassembly. Additionally, this shop is managed by a woman. I would never let any of my estimators take advantage of a female customer or any customer for that matter. Many women walk into our shop feeling more comfortable to see a female running the shop. I take great pride in that. My mother ran our family’s body shop the same way, and I will continue to do so as well. We are sorry for the bad experience.
