What a great new addition to the downtown restaurant selection! My wife and I have been waiting for this place to open. So when we drove by today and saw the open signs, we knew we had to stop. And we are so glad we did. Instantly one of our favorite places in Waco. The ambiance of the historic house is wonderful, the owners and staff are very friendly, the music selection is awesome, the (locally roasted) coffee is excellent, and the food (we had breakfast) is unbelievably good. Margaret showed us around the house and told us about all the work they've put in getting ready to open. She shared her hopes about how the community will use their space, and future plans for the restaurant and the area out back. And one of the chefs (Leslie) even came out to meet us. We had a wonderful time and left full and happy. We hope this place has great success and becomes a staple for Wacoans for years to come.

I like this place, and I'm glad it opened, but they still have improving to do to stay open as a frequent spot for me. The coffee was amazing, according to my friend. The food was pretty good tasting, but tricky to eat. For instance, I got a pork pita. The meat was tasty but the bread was dry. There was sauce on the side, but it was too liquid to pour and the container too small to dip into. The candied nuts on the salad could not be stuck with a fork without shattering. The atmosphere was pretty cool! The house is amazing. It's like the house where I imagine the board game Clue might take place. There are also lots of cool sitting areas. However, they were a little heavy-handed with the steampunk decor (including the wait staff wearing corsets...), and Christmas decs were still up so it felt cluttered. At the end of the day, no one really wants to eat at a theme restaurant on a regular basis. Staff was very friendly. All in all, I hope this place stays open!

The location is really great and authentic, but the service was really lacking. Our order came out incorrect and the service was very slow. The meal was good, but when we went to pay they had no breakdown of cost and we were overcharged. Also their options to tip were 20, 25, and 30%. We usually tip 20% but putting 30% is presumptuous.
