Keep driving. When I read the description I was excited. Its been a while since I had a good homestyle meal from a restaurant and unfortunately I still haven't. I order the "Larry Wayne Steak and Shrimp" and for the sides hush puppies and fried okra. When I get back I realized there is no gravy for the steak so on to the shrimp. This was the first disappointment of my meal. The shrimp tasted like they were caught 3 days after the Gulf BP accident and were fried in their own oil. No mind I still have my precious hush puppies a staple for any Southern boy like myself which is why it was such a tragedy when I tasted these. Imagine an economy pack of frozen hush puppies cooked 3/4's of the way got it? Good now I would have preferred eating those. I finally decided to try the chicken fried steak. Not bad actually the batter left a little to be desired but overall it was tolerable even borderline enjoyable. I did enjoy the fried okra and the cheesey garlic biscuits as well. But would I ever spend $15 on a lunch there again? Not if it took me sixteen visits to do it. And I work across the street so I am continually reminded of that culinary catastrophe.
