image A friend and I went to Cork recently, and checked their website prior to going because we wanted to make sure they would be serving as it was later. The website said they were “open until 10:30pm”. So we thought that surely we would be served properly and have the option for appetizers if we wanted. We arrived at 9:25pm, and the first thing they said when we walked in before even asking what we needed was that the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. Rude. Then when we said that was fine and asked to sit at the bar. They said that was cool, but when we asked if they were open for little while longer the guy said that the bartender would call “last call” at some point soon. Again, rude. We sat down at the bar. Ordered a bottle of wine to share, the bartender poured the first round for us and then never returned to ask how we liked the wine nor did he ever refill our glasses. We had to do that ourselves. We hadn’t been sitting for very long when one of the servers asked us if she could clean the floors behind us. Ummmm okay?? What were we supposed to say? Having said that....Had she had told us she would mopping them with a very strong bleach smelling cleaner, we would have absolutely said “no”. Bleach fumes with wine? Not great. Literally the worst experience. I’ve been here several times since they opened and each time it’s gotten worse as far as customer service goes, but this was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I will never go back and I will not recommend.
