Changed the price after we made a deal!!! Recently completed a deal on a plane. Plane was a fairly good deal. I had my own A&P look at it. However, The seller listed the plane for $45,900 & said all logs complete. I drove to them with down payment in hand which they had already agreed to accept over the phone. After an inspection of the plane we made an inspection of the logs. Because the engine book was missing the seller refused to accept my down payment. I left frustrated but hopeful. They called saying they had docs ready but that the price was now $49,500 because they had made a clerical mistake when posting the ad. Was someone else's fault. Even though the plane has just been through its annual 1 month earlier, The AD register was not up to date and the engine logs were missing completely. Makes me wonder how the I/A was able to sign the annual if the AD register was not up to date. So to complete the deal they fabricated a new set of engine logs from some records and that was all I was able to get. When picking up the plane we were simply handed out docs and key by receptionist and sent on our way. No greeting or thank you from salesman or owner. When doing preflight check we found that the carb heat was completely disconnected and had to make a repair before we could leave. Anyway the jest of it is. These folks are scummy and have little to no integrity. Buyer beware.
