Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?Ive always wanted to work with children within gastroenterology. I now am a board certified gastroenterologist who treats childrens gastrointestinal (esophagus, stomach and intestine) disorders. My staff and I work extremely hard to streamline the referral process, expedite appointment scheduling and promptly respond to patient calls. I am proud to say that my practice offers a pure pediatric environment, as a pediatric trained professional handles every aspect of the childs care, from anesthesia to X-rays.Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?PediatricsWhere did you study?Undergrad: BS in Biology at Villanova University, MD: Medical College of Pennsylvania, Internship and Residency: Pediatrics, Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh, Fellowship: Pediatric Gastroenterology, Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh.What certifications do you hold?Diplomate Certification in Pediatric Gastroenterology, American Board of Pediatrics.What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?When I am not seeing patients, I enjoy outdoor activities, reading and most of all, spending time with my husband and twin girls.Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?I am a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition and the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America.
