Shiro Japanese Bistro

Super chic, less than a minute walk to the river walk or lively bar hopping, and most importantly TASTY! I waited way too long to try Shiro, so dont make the same mistake as me! If youre a fan of raw seafood youll enjoy the experience as much as I did. You may come casual but the dining experience is anything but. Bring a date here for sure!

I've eaten so much sushi in SA that I have an ongoing list of my top faves and go-tos. I may even be growning fins jk. Shiro is HANDS DOWN THE BEST SUSHI I'VE EVER ENJOYED AND THE BEST SUSHI IN THE CITY! (bold statement, i know) The flavors were incredible, well balanced, and really unique from any other place I've been to. The sushi just melts in your mouth. I couldnt get enough! They even sat us within a reasonable time without a reservation at peak hour. Will definitely be back again, this time with a reservation.

Best sushi in San Antonio. The traditional nigiri pieces are fantastic as are the rolls. Pictured is the crab salad, toro and yellowtail nigiri, and the crispy toro roll (tuna on a crispy rice) in pic 3, which was the highlight of the meal.

I ordered 1 sushi roll as I wanted to try the freshness of the fish before ordering more. I ordered around 550pm and restaurant was not even half full but 1 sushi roll took 45 minutes to arrive and it was the smallest roll I had ever seen for $12. Only gave it 2 stars as the server was really nice and kept telling me the sushi is coming. I left after finishing and will not be back. Do not recommend unless you have a lot of time and want to waste money.

Portions way small, bill high & the hero waiter didnt bring the overpriced appetizers before the meal and says you didnt get appetizers? No hero, you dont bring them ! sorry, I dont write reviews unless horrible service and meal. I couldve gotten a better sushi at HEB for the price .
