Sonic Drive-In

Sonic has a great happy hour deal on drinks from 2 to 4 PM daily, but if you're from San Antonio you already know this. Today the wife has a Lemon Berry slush, son had a root beer float and I had a Dr Pepper with some jalapeo bombers. Over all everything was good. Our car hop was friendly and we'll be sure to stop in next time we're in the area.

Happy Hour on Saturday at this location isn't so happy. They're proposely closing their drive-in spots during happy hour so you have to wait longer in line for the drive through so that miss the happy hour window. Why offer something that you're not willing to commit to?

Only 1 person working and he couldn't be bothered to tell me over intercom or the 2x he walked past that it was drive thru only so I ended up sitting there for about 15 minutes when he finally came out and told me. Then I waited at menu board for 5 minutes before he took my order and another 5-10 before I got my food. Ice cream machine was down too. Trying to copy McDonald's? Food tasted good so not 1 star rating but still bad service so 2 stars.

I got the chicken tenders. I should of stuck with what I had eaten there before. The chicken tenders where soggy. They tasted like the oil hasn't been changed in a while. Color was darker then it should of been on both chicken tenders and tater tots. I worked at jack in the box for a few years in my earlier years. I know what makes food taste like it did. Old oil. I think I'll stay away from the fried foods from this location drinks, burgers ice cream should still be ok.....

I understand this location hasn't been servicing the drive-up spots for some time. But on this visit I was the 2nd car in line and the entire visit still took over 25 minutes. About 15 minutes at the speaker (after being told we'll be with you in a moment), and at least another 10 at the window. I only ordered one meal. Also didn't get a receipt, or napkins or my peppermint... Cashier was polite but short and not very apologetic about the whole wait time. Order was accurate at least. Cars started honking behind me and a few even left. Hopefully it will get better next time.
