Stein Mart

I purchased a few items on Saturday 8/22/20 at the Round Rock location in Austin Texas, One item was a romper, well the dressing rooms are closed due to covid so I could not try on this particular item of clothing. I called the store about an exchange In size not a return and was told it was not allowed.I'm stuck with an item I have no use for. I have been a long time customer and have sent several family members and friends here over the years and I'm highly dissatisfied in the outcome on today. I will not be going back!!

Stein mart has been my go to store for clothing and shoes for over 15 years but this last visit upset me so much, I may never go back. As I stood by myself in the check out line the customer at the checkout ahead of me apparently had an item with no tag. It happens. So I waited as the cashier called for a price check and then asked a woman who -I gather was the manager- to check me out. ( I probably had $300 worth to purchase) While still waiting for the price check the manager came up and replied “there is only 1 person in line and you called for help”? The cashier was totally embarrassed. Still waiting on the price check the manager walks past me at least 4 times, no eye contact, no comment. At this point I was extremely angry and felt sorry for the cashier. Still waiting for the price check, I walked over and dumped my arm full of clothing on an unattended register and walked out. This happened on Friday, 2/7/2020 around 2:00 pm. Mary

They are going out of business soon and I am devastated; however, I still found some nice things. Will miss this store and the sweet people that work there

I miss the anderson lane steinmart so very much. Seriously?! A goodwill store? WHATEVER
