The home, itself was pretty nice. I liked the short pier and we caught a lot of very small fish but nothing close to a keeper. Crabs, small and large, were plentiful. This will be the first negative review I've left from my many stays at various gulf coast home rentals and I hate doing it but believe it is necessary. 1. We arrived at the home after 4PM, which was the designated time for check-in. The cleaning staff was still there and anxious to leave. We entered the home and the floors were soaking wet and slippery. Each step we took turned into a spot of mud on the floor. Of course, we could have waited another 2-3 hours for it to dry but that could never happen this late in the afternoon. 2. The front of the home was full of "full" trash bags thrown into a large, wood/frame box. No problem since trash pick-up was scheduled for the next day, Monday. Well, Monday came and went and the trash remained. In fact, the trash remained for the entirety of our stay. Unsightly and smelly. 3. Imagine our surprise when we tried to make a pot of coffee in the kitchen and found that it still had a filter and that filter was full of moldy, dirty coffee grounds inside! Also, the coffee pot had dried coffee stains in the bottom inside. Gross! 4. More on the kitchen! While unpacking in the kitchen, we moved the trash can that was at the entrance to the kitchen, and found food stains on the wall AND behind it AS WELL! It had actually stained the cabinet next to it. Gross, again! The cleaners didn't even bother to move the trash bin! My sister, who cannot stand this type of thing, HAD to clean it as well as the coffee machine. 5. The bar countertop separating the kitchen and dining area was full of food crumbs. No wonder there were so many bugs in the home. 6. The kitchen dishwasher door had food stains all over the front/outside. Once again, my sister had to clean that mess up. As part of your stay you have to pay almost $200 as a clean-up fee. Wonder where THAT money is going? Not into cleaning the home - that's obvious. The dirty condition of the home ruined what should have been a fun vacation.

Beautiful place and great fishing. So much room to relax. Great place to get away to.
